Description: The Ohio flag, a swallowtail, was adopted in 1902. The blue triangle represents the hills and valleys. The red and white stripes are for the roads and waterways. Thirteen stars around the circle represent the original thirteen colonies and four stars are added representing Ohio was the seventeenth state added to the Union. The white circle is for Ohio and also for the Buckeye. This flag is made of wool and measures 120 by 135 cm. View on Ohio Memory.
