Description: This is the third Michigan Flag since they entered the union in 1837. The background is blue. In the center is an elk and a moose supporting a banner with the coat of arms. On the banner is a picture of a man standing on a peninsula looking at the sun. A red banner above the coat of arms reads "E pluribus unum" (From one, many) Below the coat of arms is a white banner that reads "Si quaeris peninsulam amoenam circumsaice (If you seek a pleasant peninsula, look about you). In the middle of the coat of arms, on a blue background is the work "Teubor (I will defend). The flag is rectangular in shape, measuring 90 by 152 cm and is made of cotton. View on Ohio Memory.
