Description: Letter from General Mark E. Bradley, Jr. of the United States Air Force to Aaron R. Fisher congratulating Fisher on his retirement and length of his service, recognizing that Fisher was, at the time this letter was written, the only person to have earned a fifty year award. Aaron R. Fisher was a highly decorated African American soldier during and after World War I; he was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross, the Croix de Guerre, Purple Heart, Mexican Service Medal, World War I Victory Medal and Army Commendation Medal for his services. After his discharge, he served as an ROTC instructor at Wilberforce University. He retired as a Chief Warrant Officer in 1947. View on Ohio Memory.
