Description: Article reports that 108 employees of the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base who had served for more than 30 continuous years were awarded for the length of their service. Aaron R. Fisher is said to have the longest service, at 43 years, 10 months and 10 days. Aaron R. Fisher was a highly decorated African American soldier during and after World War I; he was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross, the Croix de Guerre, Purple Heart, Mexican Service Medal, World War I Victory Medal and Army Commendation Medal for his services. After his discharge, he served as an ROTC instructor at Wilberforce University. He retired as a Chief Warrant Officer in 1947. View on Ohio Memory.
