Description: Wedding vest, ca. 1800-1825. The cream and tan cotton pique vest has a band collar, and a left-over-right button front (male). All hand-sewn. Welt pockets have a band of stripe in horizontal direction. Back of garment and front lining are plain, possibly linen. The collar band is on the bias, and the vest has eight covered buttons. The vest belonged to Addison Day (1790-1841). View on Ohio Memory.
