Description: View of the flood waters at the intersection of 2nd and Elm Streets in Cincinnati, Ohio, on February 14, 1884. According to the caption the flood water was 71.75 feet deep. Heavy snows in December 1883 and January 1884, followed by warm weather and heavy rain in early February 1884 caused the Ohio River to rise to a record-high 71.1 feet at Cincinnati. Thousands of homes and businesses were covered by water and ten people died as a result of the flood. View on Ohio Memory.
