Youngstown Sheet and Tube Company's Campbell Works track gang   Save
Youngstown Sheet and Tube Audiovisual Archives
Description: It was important to keep the miles of railroad tracks at the Youngstown Sheet and Tube Campbell Works in top shape for moving materials in and out. To do this the company employed people whose sole job was to repair and clean the tracks. According to Michael Carney, an employee at the Campbell Works from 1955 to 1978, these people often worked as a team and were called "track gangs" or "gandy dancers." View on Ohio Memory.
