Edward Harness Collection
Description: Decorated bone, possibly from a bear, is very pale brown and gray in color. Sculpted in low relief on the bone are a raven's head and a stylized hand or feathers. The areas in negative relief were painted yellowish red. Each end of the bone has holes drilled on either side and the bone has been hollowed out. There is some pitting and discoloration on the bird's head. Item was excavated from Harness Mound in Ross County, Ohio. View on Ohio Memory.
