Description: Small granite celt (ungrooved ax) is roughly rectangular with one end rounded and one end squared and sharpened. It tapers toward the rounded end. The celt is ground and polished. One side is flatter than the other. The edges are slightly flattened. It is pale red in color mottled with black, dark gray and pinkish white. Item was excavated from the Hubbard Mound in Licking County, Ohio. View on Ohio Memory.
