Description: Harriet Beecher Stowe was a prominent abolitionist and author of "Uncle Tom's Cabin." Born in Litchfield, Connecticut, she later moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, where she met her future husband, Calvin Stowe, a professor at Lane Theological Seminary.
