Description: This bookplate of the Cincinnati Woman's Club features a central image of a young woman reading a book. She is seated next to a lamp. She wears a patterned, high-neck blouse with full sleeves. Across the top of the bookplate are two lines of text: "The Cincinnati Woman's Club." On either side of the text is the image of a owl, the symbol of wisdom. Information about the club's is printed on the side borders: "Organized 1894" (left side) and "Incorporated 1897" (right side). A scroll bears the club's motto, "Let us be such as help the life of the Future," a quote from Zoroaster. At the bottom edge is space for a handwritten inscription. The Cincinnati Woman's Club is a private organization dedicated to fostering education and philanthropy. View on Ohio Memory.
