Description: This image shows the Mount Vernon Academy in Mount Vernon, Ohio. Mount Vernon Academy is a private, Christian High School owned and operated by the Seventh Day Adventist Church. It was the oldest Adventist boarding academy, opening its doors in 1893. It operating as a secondary school for the first eleven years and then began teaching college level courses. After eleven years as a college, it reverted back to an academy. At that time, the Washington Foreign Mission Seminary in Washington, D. C. became the training college for the Columbia Union.
