Description: This image shows the Campus Martius House in Marietta, Ohio. This house was built 1788-1790 by General Rufus Putnam of the Ohio Company of Associates during the early settlement of Ohio. The Ohio Company was formed in Boston on March 3, 1786. The primary purpose was to settle the Northwest Territory. Rufus Putnam was an organizer of the Ohio Company.
