Description: This panoramic photograph depicts a cross section of Seip Mound, the central mound in the Seip group. The Seip group of earthworks was built by the prehistoric Hopewell people in Ross County, Ohio. The photograph illustrates the construction of the mound and exposed grave sites that were uncovered during the course of excavation work by staff of the Ohio Archeological and Historical Society, now the Ohio Historical Society. Written note on the back of the photograph states "Seip Mound, Ross County, Ohio showing graves exposed and mound construction. Please Return to Truman B. Mills, Dayton Journal, Dayton, Ohio."
