Description: Photograph showing a band passing the reviewing stand during an Armistice Day parade in downtown Columbus, Ohio, November 11, 1950. Armistice Day commemorated the signing of the agreement between the Allies and Germany to cease fire on the Western Front of World War I. In 1954, the holiday became known as Veterans Day. Seen in the photograph are several Columbus businesses located across High Street from the Ohio Statehouse, including the Neil House, the Wagon Wheel restaurant, Rogers Jewelers, Flagg Brothers Shoes, Walgreens, Lazarus and more.
