Description: Photograph showing the grounds of the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus, Ohio, 1956. A caption on the reverse reads "Trees along north side of State House grounds, to be removed if underground garage is built." This photograph was taken for publication in the Columbus Citizen-Journal newspaper. A three-level parking garage would eventually be built beneath the grounds of the Ohio Statehouse--construction took place between 1963 and 1964, at a cost of over $6 million.
