Description: Marblehead Lighthouse, shown in these three photographs, was built by William Kelly in 1822. The lighthouse stands fifty feet tall and can be seen for several miles from Lake Erie. Benajah Wolcott, a Revolutionary War veteran, became the first lighthouse keeper and served until his death in 1832, when his wife Rachel took over the position. The Marblehead Lighthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The photographs measures 8" x 10" (20.32 x 25.4 cm). View on Ohio Memory.
