Description: This photograph shows Ohio Governor Michael V. DiSalle at his desk, circa 1959-1963. DiSalle (1908-1981) was born in New York City and moved to Toledo with his family when he was three years old. After attending Georgetown University, DiSalle began practicing law in Toledo in 1931. He was elected to the Ohio House of Representatives in 1936 and served as Mayor of Toledo from 1948 to 1952. After an unsuccessful run for the Governship in 1956, DiSalle won the 1958 election against incumbent Governor C. William O'Neill. The photograph is 5" x 4" (12.7 x 10.16 cm). View on Ohio Memory.
