Pieced Contained Crazy Quilt   Save
Ohio History Connection Quilt Collection
Description: Currently the only information known about this quilt is its maker, Electra Goodrich. She constructed the blocks in squares, laid out 4 x 5. The fabrics are mostly wools with some silk/wool blends, silk and cotton fabrics in velvets and twills. The quilt's blocks have lots of fan motifs, some oak leaves, and circles. The embroidery is done in herringbone/feather stitches with a few floral French knots and daisy stitches. It has no elaborate embroidery motifs. The fabrics are sewn together, not laid down on a foundation. The back is black with a red border. The quilt is tied in red and white silk thread. The machine-sewn binding is red. It has cotton batting. It is 211 cm x 214 cm (71 x 68 inches). View on Ohio Memory.
