Log Cabin patterned quilt   Save
Ohio History Connection Museum Collection
Description: Dated ca. 1870, this quilt in the Log Cabin pattern is made of satin, velvet and silk. Each satin block has a light half and a dark half, divided diagonally. The center of each block is black satin with intricate machine stitching. The blocks are arranged in groups of four so that the light sections join to form a cross shape. The larger blocks are separated by strips of black velvet. The quilt top is tacked to a red silk lining and edged with a red silk cord. The lining is quilted in a diamond pattern with vines and leaves. View on Ohio Memory.
