Jeffrey Manufacturing Company "Saddleback" Yard Locomotive   Save
Jeffrey Manufacturing Company Collection
Description: The Jeffrey Manufacturing Company used small steam-powered locomotives to move rail cars loaded with materials or products in the yard and from factory building to building. A crew of five full time employees were needed to operate and maintain the 0-4-0 "Saddleback" steam locomotive seen in this 1910 photograph. The term "Saddleback" refers to the water tank that fits over the boiler like a saddle on the back of a horse. Behind the locomotive is the structural shop. View on Ohio Memory.
