Description: This 16 foot, centrifugal mine fan was built by the Jeffrey Manufacturing Company of Columbus, Ohio. It was owned by the Pittsburgh Coal Company of Manown, Pennsylvania, 1910. Mine fans were used to force fresh air in to mines for miners to breathe and to dissipate dangerous gasses. View on Ohio Memory.
