Jeffrey 34B Entry Driver   Save
Jeffrey Manufacturing Company Collection
Description: This coal-mining machine, called a 34B entry driver, was made by the Jeffrey Manufacturing Company of Columbus, Ohio for the U. S. Fuel Company, 1924. An undercutting frame with cutter chain and two side shearing frames with cutter chains were used to enter the coal face. Cut on three sides, the face of coal was broken free at the top by hydraulic rams. A conveyor on the 34B carried the coal to the rear of the machine where it was loaded on to a coal car.
