Ohio Guide Photographs Collection
Description: This series of photographs are adhered together into a panoramic aerial view of downtown Youngstown. In the section at the bottom left, the Realty Guarantee and Trust Company building, designed by architects Morris Schiebel and Edgar Stanley in 1924, features prominently in the foreground. Other visible buildings include Kline's and the People's Furniture Co. From left to right, a number of large commercial buildings can be seen in the foreground, including Ohio Edison and the Realty Guarantee and Trust Company. To the right half of the image is the Federal Plaza West area, historically known for business and commerce. Notable buildings pictured include the Home Savings and Loan Building, the Pick-Ohio Hotel, the G.M. McKelvey Co., Paramount Theaters, Werner's, Richmans, and Hartzelle's. The Mahoning River Valley fills most of the panorama's background, with various mills and houses located along the Mahoning's bank. View on Ohio Memory.
