Description: St. Joseph's Catholic Church was formed in 1846 or 1847 by the English-speaking Catholics withdrawing from Emmanuel Church, which had been the first organized Catholic church in Dayton. The church building was erected in 1847 on the northeast corner of Madison and Second Streets. The first pastor was Rev. Father Patrick O'Maley. View on Ohio Memory.
