Description: Caption reads: "Spring House in Boy Scout Woods at Fed. Germantown Dam." The Germantown Dam is an earthen embankment located across Twin Creek in southwestern Montgomery County near the village of Germantown. It was built after the 1913 flood which resulted in a vigorous movement for flood protection. During the 1930's the Miami Conservancy District set aside areas above and below the Germantown Dam, for public access. The C.C.C. and the W.P.A. built shelter houses, hiking trails and graded roads.
