Third Street, Cincinnati, O. The stage of water February 14th. 71 feet 1/4 inch." Heavy snows in December 1883 and January 1884, followed by warm weather and heavy rain in early February 1884 caused the Ohio River to rise to a record-high 71.1 feet at Cincinnati. Thousands of homes and businesses were covered by water and ten people died as a result of the flood. View on Ohio Memory.
