Undocumented Artifacts from the First Ohioans Exhibit
Description: These four pieces of butternut seeds are charred and stored in a plastic Petri dish. The seeds are from the Late Prehistoric Period. Several distinctive Late Prehistoric cultures are recognized in different parts of Ohio: Fort Ancient in southern and central Ohio; Sandusky in northwestern Ohio; Whittlesey in northeastern Ohio; and Monongehela in eastern Ohio.
